The Eagles came out with plenty of energy from the start. Sophomore Lena Warren put the team on the board early and helped keep the pressure on Heritage.
Senior Cicely Lepro had a solid performance, responsible for much of the Eagles’ effort on offense.
Heritage was able to pull away after half-time, creating a deficit that proved too much for the Eagles to overcome, but they never gave up. On Tuesday, January 16, 2018, the Eagles girls hosted Alexander Dawson, and lost a heart-breaking game, one point down from the Mustangs.
The Eagles led in the first quarter by three points and the Mustangs caught up to tie the game at 11-11 by halftime. They each scored 11 points in the third quarter and then battled it out in the fourth. It was an edge-of- the-seat game to the very end.
