FORT COLLINS - Firewood permits for the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests can now be purchased through a new online E-permit system.
Permits may be purchased by computer or mobile device at any time, which eliminates traveling to your local Forest Service office.
Forest Supervisor Chris Stubbs announces that “This new service is a continuation of our efforts to modernize and increase efficiencies for the public. The E-permits system will provide flexibility and convenience to our forest users.”
To purchase a firewood permit or to learn more about permits and gathering firewood online, visit https://www.fs.usda.gov/r02/arp/permits/forest-products.
Traditional firewood permits and other forest product permits like mushroom and transplant permits will be available to purchase beginning May 1, 2025.
The Forest Service plans to refine and improve the quality of the online permit system and add additional special forest product permits in the future.
