The Gilpin County Youth Wrestling team improves with each meet and the young athletes are expanding their expertise and experience with every match they participate in. Coach Pete Morgan is proud of his team especially after last Saturday when the GCYW finished eighth in total team points out of 52 reams at the Colorado Hall of Fame Tournament in Broomfield.

Although this was not a league event, the tournament included the biggest and the best teams from all Colorado leagues.

Coach Morgan says, “Finishing in the top 15 never even occurred to us until after all of the results were published, and we are so proud of our kids who over achieved yet again. Gilpin County Youth Wrestling edged out many larger teams who brought more wrestlers, but we brought home a lot of metals on Saturday. The results speak for themselves.”
