Michael Carlson, Gilpin County. Gilpin County Public Library is pleased to announce it is launching a new search for artists to be featured in our annual Artists-in-Residence program this summer. Unlike past years, the Library is looking for multiple artists who are willing to share their talent during a 1 -2 hour program. This program could take the form of workshops, lectures, performances, demonstrations or any combination of such (or other) activities. The program would be presented to the public on a Saturday sometime during the month of June, July or August,
The library is accepting letters of application from artists of all kinds for the program. Artists’ letters should describe themselves and their experience in a particular art form (painting, music, writing, photography, etc.), and should include a rough outline of a program that would “raise the consciousness of Gilpin County residents about a certain art form.”

To be eligible, an artist must reside in Gilpin County or the surrounding communities. Letters of application can be dropped off at the library, mailed, or emailed to: Gilpin County Public Library, Artists-in-Residence, 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk, CO 80422, mcarlson@gilpincounty.org. Applicants are encouraged to contact Michael Carlson, Library director, with questions before submitting their letter. (Email: mcarlson@gilpincounty.org or phone 303-582-0161.) Deadline for applying is April 30, 2019. The Artists-in-Residence will receive an honorarium of $100 for the program along with an expense budget for supplies.
