Gail Ann Kilyk, 78, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away on December 11, 2025.
She was born in Ishpeming, Michigan, in 1947 to Gerald and Gertrude Luther and went on to become a lifelong educator. Gail attended Northern Michigan University, specializing in Special Education and Elementary Education.
She had a passion for teaching which led her to a lifelong career in education. She taught in the Green Bay Public Schools for 10 years before moving to Colorado and teaching predominately in the Nederland area schools. She stayed there for just over 20 years before moving to Florida, where she continued to teach until her retirement in 2010.
Even after retirement, Gail couldn’t leave the students behind. She continued to substitute and teach summer school as well as her dream job, working for the Green Bay Packers!
Gail is remembered by countless students and colleagues as a caring influence who loved teaching and loved those around her. She was actively involved in her schools year-round and was honored with a Teacher of the Year nomination, a Golden Apple nomination, and recognized by 9News in their A+ for Teachers recognition program.
Gail took special joy in being a mother and traveling the world. As a bold traveler, Gail was driven by curiosity and excitement, eagerly embracing new cultures and seeking out life's thrilling adventures. She would always look forward to coming home to family to share her many experiences.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Gertrude Luther, and is survived by her daughter Alicia, son-in-law Gary, grandchildren Ashley and Braydon, sister Kathy, her nieces Theresa and Diana, and her nephew Stephen. She will also be forever missed by the countless friends and extended family she had all over the world.
