Fun weekend of hockey for Ned kids

RINK2Tracy Brewer, Nederland.  Saturday brought warm temperatures and slushy ice but it didn’t stop Nederland’s combined Squirt/Peewee team from hosting their first games of the season.  Led by coaches Aaron Jones, Tyson Nunemacher and Alan Brewer, the team played against Woodland Park’s Peewee team.  Parents were treated to seeing the kids improve with each period in both their skating speed and puck handling skills against an older team.  They may not have scored but they were mighty in the adults’ eyes.

On Sunday, Bantam players from the YMCA Jr Buffs team came up for a kids and parents scrimmage under the stars and occasional snow flurries led by local players, Ainsley Norman and Ellie Brewer.

** We are looking for more folks to be Rink Attendants - especially during the weekends. You get $9 credit towards a season pass for every hour you volunteer!

You don’t have to commit to the same session for the entire season - we have added a calendar to the volunteer page that shows all the sessions for the entire season.  Those that are colored green are covered, those that are colored red need a volunteer!  We have broken up the long sessions into 1.5 hour blocks - for those who cannot commit to an entire afternoon.

Please take a look under volunteer (http://nedrink.us12.list-manage2.com/track/click?u=70f74c32eb01b4da5ba478857&id=b8e1b28453&e=96be0af07c) and email me (nedicerink@gmail.com) if you see a session (or part of one) you can cover and I’ll sign you up!**
