During the 1930s, fleets of Chevrolet trucks were used to transport 100 tons of gold ore mined at the Grand Republic in Sunbeam Gulch to Gold Hill and down Lickskillet Gulch to the Cold Spring mill. Sunbeam Gulch is in Crisman, Colorado, an unincorporated community and a census-designated place governed by Boulder County.
