Dear Editor,
On Friday, January 20, join us for Ecstatic Dance, a free form dance event, guided by a DJ and experienced facilitators. The music selections and timeline of the journey compose a bell curve or wave. The wave starts out calm, increases intensity until it comes to a peak, then returns to calmness. In Ecstatic EDance, the music is the teacher, there is no structure or steps to follow or any particular way to dance. This is a drug & alcohol free event and is open to all ages.
This month’s dance features DJ Chris Cox, an experienced DJ with years of experience as DJ Omega. DJing for ecstatic dance events has been a central part of his musical mission since he first played for Rhythm Sanctuary in Boulder, Colorado, nearly fifteen years ago. He has remained a pillar of the Colorado ecstatic dance community, regularly performing and serving as a teacher and mentor for other DJs and producers in the scene. His ecstatic dance sets always feature original music from his various projects, woven together with tunes from his favorite artists.
