Forum set for Gilpin County candidates

Posted

John Scarffe, Gilpin County.   A candidate forum for candidates running for Gilpin County Commissioner and Gilpin County offices has been scheduled for Saturday, October 13, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Gilpin County Community Center. Democrats, Republicans and Independents running for Gilpin County Commissioner, Gilpin County Clerk and Recorder, Gilpin County Treasurer, Gilpin County Assessor and Gilpin County Sheriff will attend the forum.

Sponsored by the Weekly Register-Call, The Mountain-Ear, the Gilpin County Democratic Party and the Gilpin County Republican Party, the goal of the forum is to ensure that as many Gilpin County residents as possible have a chance to hear from each of the candidates on critically important topics affecting our community for years to come.

Community involvement and participation is needed for this public election forum, which is nonpartisan and open to every resident who cares about keeping government accountable through fair elections and choosing a representative for their district who gives everyone a voice.

Readers and community members have an opportunity to ask questions they have for the candidates ahead of time and submit those to the moderators this month, and they will be compiled. The candidates will be asked the top questions received.

Please submit your questions with topics that are county-related or any concerns to Aaron Storms at aaron.storms@weeklyregistercall.com or John Scarffe at jscarffe54@gmail.com.
