For Your Health: Your thoughts are your reality

A new body of scientific research has proven the thoughts we think directly impact our physical and mental health. Let the magnitude of that sink in for a moment. While this has been known for thousands of years in the ancient cultures of the East, science has finally proven this through extensive mind-body research from such pioneers in the field as biologist Bruce Lipton, author Gregg Braden, Dr. Joe Dispenza and many others. This ranks among the most profound scientific validations ever realized because it means we can completely change our physical and mental health by thought alone. Let’s take a look at how this works.

Every time you have a thought, you make a chemical that causes you to feel exactly the way you were just thinking. Whether that thought is negative or positive, your brain will match the thought with the corresponding harmful or helpful chemicals every time. On average we think about 60,000 thoughts a day, and 90 percent of those thoughts are the same thoughts we had the day before, so it is apparent that by thought alone you are conditioning your mind. According to Dr. Joe Dispenza’s research; “by the age of 35 you have repeated your thought processes so often they become automatic, and this fully engrained programming creates your personality, which in turn creates your personal reality”.

In stress management circles we have known for decades that your thoughts can make you sick. I’ve seen this over and over working with clients in my bio-feedback practice. What I have also observed is that if your thoughts can make you sick, they can also make you better. I’ve seen people overcome mental and physical challenges by working with them to remove habitual patterns of negative, fear-based thinking and creating new patterns anchored in positive, love-based thinking.

If you knew beyond all doubt that thoughts created your personal reality, and by thought alone you could change your genetic destiny, would you ever let another negative, cynical thought reach the light of day? What we now know is that stress and fear-based, negative thinking downregulate the genes that keep you healthy which opens the door to disease. We also know that positive love-based thoughts upregulate genes that keep you healthy and rid you of disease.

Can you imagine anything more profound? You have all the power you need to alter your life by thought alone. If you doubt this, just look to the placebo effect with thousands of peer reviewed studies that conclusively show that the mind is the most powerful drug, literally able to cure all forms of disease, everything from common colds to cancer.

Now a potentially harsh reality check; your entire life experience is equal to how you think, act and feel, and you are 100 percent in control of that process. Your personality really does create your personal reality. It is also true that if you want to change any aspect of your life, you cannot create a new reality with the same personality that has shaped who you are at this point in your life. A shift in the analytical processing of your mind is required.

One of the best ways to shift your old, habitual patterns of thinking is to learn something new, to open the mind and let it out of the limited thinking box you have created. If we keep learning new things we create new habits through the process of repetition. Like any skill we have tried to develop throughout our life, the more we practice the better we get and the goal in this regard is to practice until we obtain absolute mastery.

I’ll be candid with you on the process of trying to shift habitual patterns of thinking. It can be among the most challenging things to accomplish without professional guidance because you are up against decades of thinking patterns that have become automated processes. Trying to embrace new ways of thinking to create a new reality requires you to convince your mind that the future you wish to experience is happening now, that you have the health, energy and vitality you have always dreamed about. If you can do this consistently you will create a new habit and that future reality you wish to manifest will happen.

May your thoughts shower you in positivity, love and endless joy!
