PEAK TO PEAK - The Schott family is making waves in the Peak to Peak region with its outstanding service, performing odd jobs.

From fire mitigation to shade installation, property cleanup to small home repairs, For The People Installations (FTPI) is filling a much-needed role in the mountain communities of Gilpin, Nederland, and Clear Creek.

They are doing this work for the people and by the people, employing local youth to assist with various types of work.

Ron and Wendy Schott launched the business in 2015 with a clear purpose: to provide hardworking, reliable help for everyday jobs, especially the ones larger companies won’t touch.

The idea for the business was to support locals with integrity-driven service while creating meaningful employment opportunities in the region.

Based out of Black Hawk, FTPI has since grown into a nine-person crew known for showing up, working hard, and leaving things better than they found them.

Speaking of his crew, Ron said: “Every employee has a voice on our team. We are all a part of this and hold each other accountable.”

“They are such a hard-working, conscientious group and it's a pleasure to support them in the community. It's a godsend to find a group of young people that are so respectful, courteous and enthusiastic about helping others. Ron and Wendy have raised two wonderful young men and they treat this group of young adults as their own. We love this group and it is so wonderful to see them helping so many community members and truly caring for the community and all those they help.” - Kim Luzeckyj

The company provides a wide range of services, including fire mitigation, interior and exterior home repairs, cleaning up properties, small motor installations, and both manual and motorized shade installations.

Their approach is refreshingly simple: if it’s a job that needs doing, they’ll see what they can do to help.

“Last summer, I found myself overwhelmed by a yard full of debris. I saw an ad on Facebook for Ron and his crew, so I gave them a call. From the moment they arrived, I was impressed. They worked seamlessly together, tackled the job with efficiency, and ensured my yard was clean and safe when they finished—all at a price that felt more than fair. In today's world, such dedication and integrity are truly refreshing, and I feel fortunate to have them in our community.

But beyond their professionalism, Ron is known for his genuine kindness. He's the kind of neighbor who checks on everyone during harsh weather, offering help without hesitation—even to those he hasn't met. His selflessness and warm spirit have touched many, myself included. It's rare to come across someone so consistently uplifting, expecting nothing in return.

Without a doubt, I wholeheartedly recommend FTPI for any projects in our county. They don't just complete tasks—they make you feel like part of their extended family.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I believe Ron, his family, and team's dedication and warmth deserve to be highlighted, and I hope this helps shed light on the wonderful impact they've had on our community.” - Leza A. Spencer

One of the biggest things that sets FTPI apart is their willingness to take on the tasks others avoid, often in the more remote, rugged areas of the mountains where crews from the Front Range won’t travel.

That willingness, paired with a reputation for kindness, professionalism, and reasonable pricing, has earned the Schotts a loyal following.

The leadership structure is just as grounded as the work they do. Everyone on the FTPI team is considered an equal part of the mission. There’s no corporate hierarchy here, just a group of locals working side by side and holding each other accountable.

“Ron and his crew have been helping so many people, with so many different types of projects, that it's easy to forget that his main business, I believe for 28 years, is installing window coverings.

When we purchased our home over 25 years ago, I knew that I wanted blinds in the second story windows up in our loft. Today, Ron and his crew installed motorized blinds for me!

They took time to find a close color match to the faded 30-year-old blinds on the first-floor windows in the room. The blinds arrived quickly, and they were installed in just a little over an hour. Amazingly, For The People Installations' price was very close to the estimated price another vendor had quoted me about 15 years ago! Ron, Wendy, and the crew were professional, friendly and polite! I highly recommend them!” - Nancy Larson

Steady growth has followed their grassroots success, but the goal isn’t to become a giant operation; it’s to keep doing meaningful work that makes life easier for their neighbors.

From assisting elderly residents to empowering younger workers in the area with real job opportunities, FTPI is rooted in community values from the ground up.

"Our favorite part about what we do is helping good local people with tasks that no one else wants to do. We strive in providing efficient assistance for good and honest local mountain dwellers," said Ron.

Their headquarters at 2625 Highway 46 in Black Hawk serves as home base, but their work takes them all across the region, wherever a little extra help is needed.

“I have had Ron and his crew do many things around my house. They work very fast and efficiently. Always on time. Always polite. I highly recommend them!” - Denise Kilmer

Need a hand with a project? The group performs many handyman and household chores. These include property cleaning, small motor repairs, fire mitigation, and home repairs–interior and exterior.

“Ron and the boys were so professional and efficient. Ron gave us a quote upfront and stuck to that, timely, professional, and efficient. They cut wood, stained our deck, and worked hard. I highly recommend them.” - Terri Miller

Because in the mountains, having neighbors you can count on makes all the difference.
