Barbara Lawlor, Nederland. Firefighters continue to fight the Cold Springs fire near Nederland today. The fire crossed Boulder Canyon yesterday and firefighters were able to contain it quickly in that location. 
At this time at least 4 houses have been confirmed destroyed, with more in the fire zone waiting for evaluation.
After the blaze began at Cold Springs and Peak to Peak Highway, it headed southeast along the ridge and then down into the Sherwood area and, torching its way onto Ridge Road. Dozens of engines from fire districts all over the front range set up a defense perimeter along the road, hosing down houses and chain sawing fuel sources around the houses. Four homes and a couple of outbuildings have been destroyed, but there have been no injuries or deaths.
Jimmy Andrew Suggs, 28, and Zackary Ryan Kuykendall, 26, have been charged with fourth-degree Arson for allegedly starting a wildfire in Boulder that crews were struggling to get under control Monday, according to the Boulder County Sheriff's office. The suspects were seen leaving the Cold Springs area shortly after the fire started. They spent the night at the evacuation center at the high school and were arrested on Sunday.

Magnolia Road is CLOSED. Do not take Magnolia. Due to extensive construction and delays in Left Hand Canyon, it is faster to use Colo. Hwy. 7 (St. Vrain Drive) west from Lyons to get to the Peak to Peak Highway from points north of Boulder.
Sugarloaf Road remains closed from the Switzerland Trail to the Peak to Peak Highway.
Cooler temperatures will make firefighting a little more comfortable for crews battling the Cold Spring fire, but humidity is still low and winds are predicted to be erratic. Gusts up to 35 mph are forecast.
