Financial Corner: Creating calm in the storm

Posted

Dana Edwards, MBA, EA, Peak to Peak. These past weeks, I have had the opportunity to help many of our fellow mountain folk and business owners navigate their options in the recent stimulus package. To those who have reached out, I humbly appreciate your willingness to ask for help and to share with me your situation.

Trust is no small endeavor. It’s hard enough to come by with our neighbors, let alone our government and societal institutions. But it is precisely the thing that is needed most right now. With that in mind, I offer the following: We will get through this. As a community and as a society. This is not the end. Perhaps it is the beginning of something entirely new. While we struggle through this brief time, there is the quiet but persistent pulse of possibility.

The impact will ripple outward for decades. Hold onto the vision that so much can and will come of it. Try to avoid the extremes of mind. Chances are, it won’t be the worst-case scenario, and it probably also won’t be the best. But things will change. As human being with highly evolved minds and conscious, we can envision that this current struggle will create more. More goodness, more connection, more compassion, more understanding. More patience. More commitment. More respect. More opportunity to see and envision the lives we want and the world we all wish to dwell in.

If you are wondering what financial options might be available to you during this time, I am happy to offer my services pro bono while the Stay at Home order is in place.
