Annie Thayer, Nederland. Art at the Center (AATC) will host their 2019 Fall show and reception on Thursday, October 3 from 5 to 7 pm. Please join us for a spectacular show of fine art and photography, embracing fall colors and more! We have 19 new and returning artists showing their work, including 9 photographers, 5 watercolorists, and several oil, acrylic, graphite and collage artists.
Photographer Loren Merrill is one of our new artists. She is a wildlife ecologist, and an avid natural history observer. In her photography, she strives to capture moments that evoke more than a passing fancy, to make the viewer stop and think about the image. Whether it’s an unusual bit of behavior, or a novel capture of a landscape, she wants the viewer to connect with the image on some level.
Also new to ATTC is watercolorist Dori Stickles. Her paintings portray the beauty of nature with all their amazing detail. Like Georgia O’Keefe, she finds natural objects fascinating and enjoys the process of carefully studying them as she paints them. Her paintings attempt to draw people’s attention to the simple and complex forms that are all around us when we go outside, thus creating an escape from today’s world of technology. Rendering an image realistically allows Dori to relive the joy of her initial encounters with these beautiful vistas.

Annemarie Fruth is a budding watercolorist and is showing her paintings for the first time. She is currently studying watercolor painting with Annie Thayer and has quickly taken to the medium, exploring its ability to capture the natural world in a way that expresses her love of nature and unique inner view.
Oil painter Evan Cantor will be singing and playing guitar for our event, with a surprise guest from the east coast doing a few jazz numbers with him on saxophone.
Please join us for this beautiful art show. It is a fun community event where you can enjoy art, appetizers, music, and talk with the artists. Invite your family and friends to join you! Requested $5 donation for food and wine. We look forward to seeing you on October 3 between 5 and 7 pm.
This event is sponsored in part by Citywide Bank.
Art at the Center is held at the Nederland Community Center, located at
