Endorsement for Jessica Kays

Posted

Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter to express my support and admiration for Jessica Kays, who is running for Gilpin County Commissioner.

For the last five years I had the pleasure of working with Jessica as I built the Gilpin County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and the Emergency Management Program. Jessica was one of the key members responsible for helping with this growth. She was always willing to learn the process before starting to develop the system, many times to my annoyance.

Over the years Jessica always pursued the best course of action for the County, both in a fiscal manner and as in learning the complexities of what the profession of emergency management does. Jessica was always present, unlike some, to attend trainings, workshops, and seminars to help grow the County's defenses against a cyber-attack. She was always one of the first to call or see if there was a need for her presence in the EOC during every activation.

As a certified emergency manager, I know the impacts that a person like Jessica Kays will bring to Gilpin County as a Commissioner. Her willingness to learn and be engaged leads to a collaborative relationship for emergency managers. It is with great honor and support that I submit this letter to personally endorse Jessica Kays as your next Gilpin County Commissioner.

Thank you!

Nathaniel J. Whittington
