Living and playing: The entrance to Lyons Classic Pinball evokes excitement as gamers approach the building. Right: One of many pinball machines, depicting 1994’s hit film “Pulp Fiction.”[/caption]
Life is challenging no matter your age. Sometimes, however, it's great to be a kid again. Enter Lyons Classic Pinball, a family-owned business in Lyons, Colorado. To make a long story short, after losing love for their jobs and feeling disappointed with pinball options, the family began collecting pinball games and searching for the ultimate experience.
Early on, the family was determined to be “the place to play” in the state. Now, players can find games dating back to the 1960s.
Pinball game themes range from “The Addams Family” and AC/ DC to “Ghostbusters” and Indiana Jones. There’s even a pinball wizard theme, allowing you to stand like a statue and play a mean pinball. (Kudos to you if you got the reference there.)
If you’re not a pinball fanatic – no worries. There are also four classic video games to play. And kids aren’t the only ones enjoying the pinball fun in Lyons. Parents and grandparents are often seen pinballing the day away.
The facility is family-friendly, smoke-free, and well-maintained. Ice cream, snacks, and drinks are available on-site. And in case you’re wondering, yes, there’s a change machine and rolls of quarters are available.
If you become a fan of Lyons Classic Pinball, you can show off your pride with brand merchandise or check out the games for sale. You can also book a private event – whether or not you’re good at pinball doesn’t matter.
From the moment you open the front door, the sound and experience of a pinball parlor heighten your senses. It’s like being transported into a magical world where nothing matters save the moment at hand.
Today, Lyons Classic Pinball celebrates more than a decade in business. Outside of Lyons, you can find their games at Abo’s Pizza in South Boulder, and Rosalee’s Pizzeria in Longmont.
Lyons Classic Pinball is located at 339-A Main Street, Lyons. You can find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/LyonsClassicPinball/ or email them at lyonspinball@yahoo.com.
