According to studies from the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM), art provides numerous benefits. It enhances brain function by impacting brain wave patterns, emotions, and the nervous system.
Art can also raise serotonin levels, aiding in mood, sleep, digestion, nausea, wound healing, bone health, blood clotting, and more. These benefits do not just come from making art, they also occur by experiencing art.
The Mountain-Ear newspaper is happy to announce the first annual Peak to Peak Studio Tour. The tour’s purpose is to optimize the exposure of our local artists before the holiday season and around the same time the leaves begin to change colors.
Galleries and visitors can participate and enjoy an incredible day in the mountains all about art and color. Every week in June, July, and August, leading up to the colorful tour in September, The Mountain-Ear will feature one artist from the Peak to Peak region.
Participating artists will need to sign up no later than Friday, June 30, 2023. There is no fee for participating. However, all locations must agree to and meet some basic requirements, including providing photos and/ or images and filling out a bio questionnaire for the promotion leading up to the tour date.
Participants will also have to provide a physical location to show and/or display their art, agree to have their address and location printed along with the map being distributed, and must be available and open during the entire scheduled tour, Friday, September 22 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, September 23 and September 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Spectators can partake in this vibrant adventure by registering for the tour. A detailed map along with the artist’s descriptions, images, and geo-location will be compiled into both printed and online versions. This will be distributed as a special to the paper.
Whether in Nederland for the fourth Friday event or celebrating homecoming weekend, why not add the Peak to Peak Studio Tour to your itinerary and experience the wonderful world of art and its endless benefits?!
