On arrival, Eldora is shining gold in the sunrise. Not a cloud in the sky, barely a breeze, and employees bustling about setting up. Perfect conditions to begin the season.

Friday, November 14, 2025: Opening day at Eldora!
“I’ve been here since 11:45 a.m. yesterday–we just car camp,” Tom Miller (Trailer Tom) says.
Others stand with him with similar statements. “Some of us have been here since 5 or 6 p.m. yesterday,” Mason Richard says.
Employees note that they've seen them have a sort of tailgate setup going on all together. One employee states that Trailer Tom stood by while Eldora employee ski day went on the day prior, saying that if they had offered, he would have been ready just then!
When asked why they all come so early for the first chair, they exclaim “It's tradition!”
On arrival, Eldora is shining gold in the sunrise. Not a cloud in the sky, barely a breeze, and employees bustling about setting up. Perfect conditions to begin the season.
As mid-November approached, Eldora Ski Resort snowmakers had been hard at work night and day to cover a run in snow. With this being one of the warmer Novembers in years, many resorts have had to do the same: opening one run with artificial snow rather than the full resort. For Eldora, this is 1,000 feet of downhill!
When opening day arrived, excitement was in the air. For many, the day began at 8 a.m. as they hoped to be one of the first in line for a chair.
At the bottom of the run, at the base of the Alpenglow Lift, Woodward Terrain Park sits, inviting skiers and riders onto its jumps and rails. There is also a DJ booth just beside the park. Timbers Lodge is open and ready with food and drink for skiers.
A year of fine skiing and snowboarding is ahead at (soon to be our own) Eldora!
Eldora Mountain Resort is located at 2861 Eldora Ski Rd, Nederland, CO 80466.
