Eagles make top ten

Barbara Lawlor, Gilpin County.  The Gilpin High School Eagles Track and Field team, both boys’ and girls’, finished in the top ten at the Mile High League Championships in Longmont last weekend.

 

Senior Keely Schmidt took fourth place in the 300 meter hurdles and eighth place in the high jump. Ashley Parkhurst was in the top ten in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash and 400 meter dash, a promising forecast for Eagle sprint future.

 

Jack Ball took eighth place in the 1600 meter run, third place in the 400 meter run and fourth place in the 800 meter run. Austin Boulter and Josh Trujillo took seventh and eighth place in the shot put.
