Eagles drop in first period

hanson and boysBarbara Lawlor, Gilpin County. The Gilpin County Eagles traveled to Denver Jewish Day School on Tuesday, January 12, and went home with a 32-50 loss against the Tigers

It was all decided in the first period when the Eagles could not score more than two points and Jewish Day charged in for 24. Although Gilpin outscored them in the two next periods, they couldn't answer eight points in the fourth period. Their record is now 5-4.

Period scores:2-24  13-5  12-8  5-13

Chase Boulter was high rebounder with 10 points and 12 rebounds and Matthew Immordino was high scorer with 13 points.

Individual stats:

Nick Peterson: 2 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block

Eryk Lorenz: 2 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists

Matthew Immordino: 13 points, including 5 free throws, 4 rebounds

Bjorn Tomlinson: 5 points, 3 rebounds

Chase Boulter: 10 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.

The boys' next home game will be on January 30th against Belleview Christian with varsity beginning at 6:30.
