Barbara Lawlor, Gilpin County.  In the past week, the Gilpin Eagles won two three-game matches and then suffered an agonizing five-game match loss against Community Christian.

On Tuesday, Sept. 29, they hosted Belleview Christian and crunched them 25-14, 25-16 and 25-6

On Wednesday, they hosted Denver Jewish and beat them, 25-13, 25-6 and 25-18.

Last Friday, Oct. 2, Gilpin added one more game to their arduous schedule and though they lost the five-game match to Community Christian, who are now 12-2, the Eagles never let up. They now have a 9-3 record.
