In the past couple of weeks, the Gilpin Eagles varsity track and field team has participated in two meets, the Thunderhawk Twilight Invitational in Henderson and the Denver Christian Invitational in Lakewood.
At the Thunderhawk meet, on April 3, 2018, the boys came in 12th of 23 teams with senior Jack Ball taking second and fourth in the 400 and 800-meter runs.

On Saturday, April 14, the Gilpin team traveled to the Denver Christian Invitational in Lakewood. They came in 8th out of 12 teams with Highlands Ranch taking first place.
Once again, senior Jack Ball had a great day, coming in top five in three events.

The next meet will be the Joe Shields Invitational which will take place in Kremmling on May 10. This will be the last meet before the CHSAA Class 2A State Championships.
