Sara Van Valkenburgh, Idaho Springs. Colorado Adventure Center has long been a destination for locals and tourists alike to fill those long summer days with rafting, zipline tours and guided opportunities to explore the Colorado Rockies from a different angle. Now offering the one-of-a-kind Colorado Sky Trek Aerial Park, adventurers can explore from their own vantage point, higher than ever before.

With zip lines connecting each of the 63 elements, visitors can practice working up to or test their fine-tuned abilities to walk tight ropes, cross wobbly bridges, balance, jump or zip out of their comfort zone and up to new heights. If a challenge proves too daunting, participants can just zip on by to the next adventure.
Kevin Schneider, owner of Colorado Adventure Center, says, “Our goal in building the Colorado Sky Trek was to give visitors another opportunity for an action-packed adventure. Almost everyone has a fear of heights; it’s an empowering experience to work through the course and face those fears head on. Kids are amazing at it!”
Embracing the mining history evident throughout the park, Sky Trek is mining-themed and crosses over and around multiple mining claims. Their highly-trained guides will help you navigate foot holds, chose landings and decipher what to hold on to, both from the air and on the ground. The three levels of increasing intensity allow guests to start slow, on the Copper course for beginners, work through the Silver intermediate course and up to the Gold level advanced course at their own pace. Reaching heights of 50 feet or more, participants are harnessed in and attached to a safety device at all times.
The rate is affordable, at around $44 per person, with opportunities for increased value such as the Happy Hour Sky Trek, which departs at 5 p.m. and includes a free beer or other beverage at the trip’s conclusion. Bundle options including two or more activities, feature lunch served at a scenic creek side location. Group discounts and specials offer unique and exciting bonding opportunities for families, business trips, church outings, reunions, school field trips and sports teams to test their abilities and work through the challenges together.
Colorado Adventure Center and the new Sky Trek Aerial Park is visible from I-70 in Clear Creek Canyon. Located in Idaho Springs, only 35 minutes from Denver or Nederland and 45 minutes from Summit County, it is perfectly situated to accommodate locals and visitors seeking sky-high Rocky Mountain adventures.
