Omayra Acevedo, Peak to Peak. Well, my friend has come and gone. As did the tears after saying our goodbyes. (If you’re a bit lost, reading last week’s edition will bring you up-to-date). We spent a lovely last day together. We got up early and headed into the town of Breckenridge, Colorado. I know I’ve written about Breckenridge in the past, but we went there specifically to share one last brew together.
Welcome to the original Breckenridge Brewery and Pub! In this delightful establishment, you can find a plethora of tasty eats that can accommodate just about any budget. Appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and of course the hoppy heavenliness that has been brewed since 1990.
It is the third oldest craft brewery in the state. They offer a wide-range of beer styles from traditional ales, lagers, sours, saisons and barrel aged beers. Psst! Want to know my two favorites so far? No problem. My top two so far are the Avalanche Amber Ale and the Vanilla Porter. Why? Thanks for asking. I like the Amber Ale because it’s the type of beer you can have anytime, anywhere. I like Vanilla. So, the Vanilla Porter suits my taste buds just fine. It’s dark in color, but light and smooth from start to finish.
One of my favorite things about the Breckenridge Brewery, is how committed they are to their community. They give back in more ways than just libations. They’ve been supporting so many causes for many years, and they plan to continue to be a positive impact on their community. What a great way to share the wealth.
Speaking of fortunate, while in Breckenridge, my special friend and I were able to sight see and witness some of the most stunning Autumn colors I’ve seen all season. On our way out of town, we made a stop at Lake Dillon. The water was shimmering, the sun made the colors come alive and the day couldn’t have been more perfect.
Before I let you go, there’s just one friendly reminder: I know that once a month, I pick one restaurant/pub/bar to visit, but please know that I do so responsibly and I hope that you do too.
There you have it. Another day in paradise - Rocky Mountain paradise. Don’t want to travel to Breckenridge? No worries! Since 2015, they’ve had a 12-acre location in Littleton, Colorado. Come in for the food; stay for the brews!
