Omayra Acevedo, Boulder. If ever there was a city with multiple personalities, I reckon it would have to be Boulder. It was 2007 when I first set foot in this unconventional city. I recall thinking, what an eclectic, yet somewhat unusual and amazing place. I went everywhere and anywhere I could in Boulder. I probably visited once a month when I first moved to Colorado.

One of the first things I learned about our colorful state, besides Rocky Mountain National Park, was about Celestial Seasonings. So, guess where I headed off to? That’s right! The free Celestial Seasonings Tour. I won’t give anything away, but the smells are enough to heighten your senses and possibly clear your sinuses.
Being a huge nature lover, I had to experience the Boulder Creek Path and of course some hiking in Chautauqua. You can hike or bike the four-mile Boulder Creek Path through Boulder Canyon. The sound of natural running water is one of my favorite sounds in the world. It’s amazing! Chautauqua is another beauty you should allow time for when in Boulder. With dozens of trails to choose from, it can be a challenge deciding which one to explore, but just pick one and go. Don’t forget your whiskey – I mean water.
However, if you are in the mood for some adult beverage education and sampling, I suggest you head to one of the 24 brewery, four winery or six distillery tours also available to you for free. If you can find one, pick up a Boulder Beer Trail brochure. As well as a distillery and winery one.
Remember to also look up the Boulder Farmer’s Market. Apparently, it was named number 1 by USA Today.
Naturally, no trip would be complete without taking a stroll through Pearl Street Mall. Granted, shopping isn’t free, but taking a walk through the mall doesn’t cost you anything but time. Through the warmer days, you can stop on just about every block to enjoy some live street entertainment. From music to balloon artists, face painters and other spectacular merriment. There’s always something to do in Boulder, Colorado.
