Discount electric car purchase program

Posted

leafBarb Halpin, Boulder.  Boulder  County and its municipalities are providing another reason to purchase an electric vehicle. The program, Benefits Boulder County, is back by popular demand after significant successes earlier this year. By reducing the price of electric cars while educating the community, Boulder County is providing a greater incentive for people to leave the gas pump.

“To date, this program has made purchasing an electric car easy and affordable,” said Susie Strife, Sustainability Coordinator for Boulder County. “This round of EV Benefits Boulder County has more competitive pricing and is offered through Valley Nissan in Longmont, making it easier for eastern county residents to participate.”

To take advantage of the reduced pricing for an electric vehicle, participants can work directly with the program partner below using the code: Benefits Boulder County. To take advantage of the reduced pricing, participants must purchase a vehicle through Valley Nissan by December 31, 2016.

The Deal:

2016 Nissan LEAF (all models) – receive Benefits Boulder County’s $9,500 discount in addition to $12,500 in federal and state tax incentives in addition to that, bringing the total cost of the base model down to about $10,500 and 0% finance up to 72 months. To sweeten the deal, buyers will also receive a free level 2 home charger or an additional $500 off.

“These types of community-based programs are expanding EV adoption across the country and play an important role in lowering air emissions and health risks associated with those emissions,” said Strife. “Plus, electric vehicles boost local economies because the $500 or more that people save every year on fuel—even at today’s low gas prices—tends to be spent locally.”

Program History

Through a competitive solicitation process, an evaluation committee selected a reputable vendor to provide sustainability goods and services to Boulder County residents at discounted prices.

This nationally recognized and award winning program has facilitated the purchase of more than 1MW of residential rooftop solar, 350 electric vehicles, and 80 electric bikes across the Front Range. Building on the success of the 2015 and 2016 programs, Boulder County is launching this round as a limited time offer until December 31, 2016.
