Carrie Haverfield, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. At 4:22 p.m. on July 29, 2020, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office was notified by park visitors in the area of Buckingham Campground, near the 4th of July Road, that they came across a possible deceased person.
A Boulder County Parks and Open Space ranger, who was in the area, was directed to the location of where the body was seen. Upon arrival, the ranger confirmed that an adult male was deceased in tent. It was determined that the location of the tent was on the Boulder County Open Space Wells property.
Based on the condition of the body, the sheriff’s office believes it had been there for some time. At this time, no foul play is suspected, however, it is still under investigation.
The identification of the decedent, as well as the cause and manner of his death will be determined by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office.
