Peak to Peak Chorale Presents: Searching for the Light: A Journey of Hope. Join the Chorale for their annual holiday concert as they take you on a journey through the stars to search for hope, light, and peace. Dedicated to those affected by the Nederland fire. 7 p.m., Golden Gate Grange, 25201 Golden Gate Canyon Road, Golden.

Brent Warren’s “A Plaque of Parody” Art Reception: Wine, cheese, and light refreshments as well as live music. Please register at nederland.libcal.com/event/15678149. 5 to 7 p.m. at the Nederland Community Library located at 200 Highway 72, Nederland. 

Saturday, December 13

Post Office Play Day: Celebrate the wonderful art of letter-writing and help your kids gain an appreciation of all that the Post Office does for us. Play check-out, weigh and match post and parcels, sort and deliver mail! We will have letter writing supplies, cursive practice, make your own postcards, stamps,  and gift tag stations. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Nederland Community Library located at 200 Highway 72, Nederland. 

Santa Visit: Watch Santa arrive in a fire truck. Free activities, take your own photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus, arts and crafts, cocoa, cookies, letters to Santa and a little gift. 12 to 2 p.m. Coal Creek Canyon Community Center, 31528 Highway 72, Coal Creek Canyon.

Christmas Street in the HARD District: The reindeer arrival! Get your picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus and their reindeer. Hamburgers, hot dogs and free hot chocolate. 1 to 4 p.m. JKQ parking lot, 200 Gregory Street, Black Hawk.

Holiday Crafting: Come join us for two days of holiday crafting fun. Kids of all ages can come make ornaments, cards, and other holiday decorations. Holiday cards and stamping crafts will also be available for teens and adults. Patrons can drop in anytime during the scheduled hours. 12 to 5 p.m. at the Gilpin County Public Library, located at 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk. 

Sunday, December 14

Holiday Market: Annual market featuring amazing local artists and makers. The perfect place to find one-of-a-kind gifts for those special people. 

Gold Hill Annual Holiday Bazaar: We have some terrific ideas for holiday gift giving. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gold Hill Pub, 531 Main Street, Gold Hill.

Cookie Exchange: Bring cookies, eat cookies, and pair with Very Nice beers, all while enjoying the Shawnsky Christmas Show! Cookie exchange is a table full of cookies to enjoy here. Bring your own bag if you want to leave some and take some! 4 to 7 p.m. at Very Nice Gilpin, located at 180 Jankowski Drive, Black Hawk.

Trivia Night: At Very Nice Brewing Company. Grab your friends and make an unbeatable team! 7 to 9 p.m. 180 Jankowski Drive, Black Hawk.

Saturday, December 20

Santa With Your Pets: Santa Paws is waiting to get his picture with your friendly pet. Please bring your own camera or phone to take your pictures. Due to the nature of some of our pets, there will be no walk-ins. See CCCIA website for signup and time slots. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Coal Creek Canyon Community Center, 31578 Highway 72, Coal Creek Canyon.

Knits, Nibbles, and Brews: An ugly sweater goat social! It’s so fun when ugly is cool. Join us! 1 to 4 p.m. MainStage Brewing, 450 Main Street, Lyons.

Flower arranging with Uproot: Join us at Salto Coffee in Rollinsville while we share fundamental design techniques in creating a table centerpiece for the holiday season. We will focus on every element of arranging, beginning with container preparation to color theory & finally, of course, flowers! Cost: $75. Noon to 2 p.m. 51 A Main Street, Rollinsville.

Sunday, December 21

Holiday Craft Fair: Perfect for those last-minute gifts. Local arts, crafts and baked goods. Come shop for unique wares. Shop local! Live music begins at 4 p.m. While you are there, grab a libation! 12 to 5 p.m. A Very Nice Brewing Company, 180 Jankowski Drive, Black Hawk.
