Instincts, Intuition & Preventing Violence: Presented by Sidse Powell. Inspired by the book The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker, you will learn the seven pre-incident indicators of violence and their defenses. You will learn the language of intuition and the way it speaks to you and how to honor those to avoid potential danger. 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Nederland Community Library, located at 200 Highway 72, Nederland.

Children’s Storytime: Read books, sing songs, learn some ASL, and get the wiggles out! From 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. we have free play, bring out the toys, and get to know other kids, parents, and caregivers. Every Friday morning from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. at the Nederland Community Library, located at 200 Highway 72, Nederland.

Fall Plays and Talents: Student-directed plays, live music, talents, and tricks! 7 p.m. at Nederland Middle-Senior High School, 597 Eldora Road, Nederland. $5 admission. 

Tuesday, November 11

Wild Bear Story Time: We will read books, sing songs, play and move together, while fostering early ecological literacy in this nature-focused story time. Come join us for fun, friends and community! This has been relocated to the Nederland Community Library, located at 200 Highway 72, Nederland, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Tuesday. 

After School Makers Program: Arts and crafts after-school program for kindergarten through 5th grade. Kids can catch the shuttle bus down from the school. Pickup is promptly at 5 p.m. We will meet in the community room. Sharp tools and glue guns will be used. This is a no-cost program, but donations for snacks or healthy, individual snack donations are always appreciated to help cover some of our costs. Second Annual Taste of Gilpin: A culinary showdown and fundraiser! Gilpin’s top restaurants compete for best bite and best sip. A silent auction featuring fine art, hospitality packages, and culinary experiences. Held at the Historic Teller House. See gilpinarts.org for more information and to purchase tickets. This is a 21 and older event. 6 to 9 p.m., 120 Eureka Street, Central City.

Bingo Night: Join us for Bingo in our Gilpin tap room. Casey, our host, will make this event a blast with lots of prizes! Kaleidoscope Kitchen food truck will be serving up goodies. Join us for food, fun, and brews! 6 to 8 p.m. at Very Nice Gilpin located at 180 Jankowski Drive, Black Hawk.

Friends of the Library Bake Sale: Throughout the holiday season, the Friends of the Library will be conducting several bake sales to help raise funds to support various programs such as the Summer Reading Program. Visit the library for a variety of homemade baked goods for sale. 10 a.m. to noon at the Gilpin County Public Library located at 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk.

Beaded Corn Keychain: In some traditions, corn is believed to have protective qualities. Many cultures have revered it as a symbol of longevity, prosperity, and protection. Craft your own corn keychain with us. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Nederland Community Library located at 200 Highway 72, Nederland. 

Family Movie Matinee: Bring the kids for free popcorn and a movie as we watch a family-friendly film in the meeting room. This week’s movie is "Elio." The movie starts at 4:30 p.m. at the Gilpin County Library, 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk.

Nederland Community Thanksgiving Dinner: Join your community in a Thanksgiving potluck feast while enjoying live music and art! Want to figure out how to get involved?
