Sunday, February 23

Parents’ Afternoon Out: Everyone’s favorite! Guardians and caregivers can drop off their child at the Nederland Community Library for an afternoon of craft, games and a movie. Must be over the age of 5. 1 to 4 p.m. at 200 Highway 72. 

Beat the Winter Blues Bake Off: The theme for this round is “Rise, Baby, Rise!” Think: bread, biscuits, rolls, and anything that needs to rise! There will be prizes for the winners. 3 to 5 p.m. at Very Nice Brewing Nederland located at 20 Lakeview Drive.

Bingo: It's BINGO night in the Very Nice Gilpin tap room! Join us for the fun with our host, Casey! Brews, fun, and prizes! AND Kaleidoscope Food Truck is serving starting at 5 p.m.! Meet at Very Nice Brewery Gilpin located at 180 Jankowski Drive.

Free Vaccine Clinic: Protect yourself and the community by staying up-to-date on recommended vaccines! Gilpin County Public Health is offering a FREE vaccine clinic on Friday, February 28. Vaccines provided include Covid, Flu, RSV, Pneumonia, Shingles, TDAP, and other childhood vaccines. You do not need to be a Gilpin County resident to participate, and vaccines are free of cost. If you are insured, please bring your insurance information with you to the clinic.  Registration is encouraged but not required. Please note that if you register, appointment times are approximate and wait times may vary. Call 303-582-5803 or email Marie Larson at mlarson@gilpincounty.org for questions. 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Gilpin County Community Center located at 250 Norton Drive. 

Brunce Macary Student Violin Recital: Enjoy this free recital from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Nederland Community Library located at 200 Highway 72.

After Hours in the Stacks: Visit the library on Saturday, March 1 for After Hours in the Stacks. This is a middle and high school students-only event, which means no parents or younger siblings are allowed! Start the night with 9 holes of mini-golf, weaving in and out of the library stacks. After you've finished, join us for a showing of “Happy Gilmore,” rated PG-13, and free pizza and drinks!  Tee time starts at 4:30 p.m., and the movie starts at 6 p.m. Registration is highly recommended. CCCIA Mardi Gras Celebration: Free entry and open to the public! Feast on authentic New Orleans cuisine, enjoy a cashless casino, the music of the French quarter, and a Mardi Gras craft bead station! Guests are encouraged to dress in costume and bring beads. 5 to 8 p.m. at the Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association Hall located at 31528 Highway 72.

Game and Puzzle exchange: Pick up “new to you” games and puzzles! 2 to 4 p.m. at the Nederland Community Library located at 200 Highway 72. 

First Annual Lions Youth Speech Contest: The Nederland Lions Club, along with the Nederland Community Library, is proud to announce the First Annual Lions Youth Speech Contest for 2025. This contest, aimed to increase public speaking skills and service awareness, is for high school students in the Nederland community. The contest will be held on Sunday, March 2, at 4 p.m. at the Community Library located at 200 Highway 72.  Prizes will be awarded for the top speeches. All are welcome to attend.
