Children’s Storytime: Stories! Song! Movement! Music! Play! Every Friday morning from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. we hold storytimes for ages 0 to 4 years old. From 10:15 to 10:45 a.m., we read books, sing songs, learn some ASL, and get the wiggles out! From 10:45 to 11:30 a.m., we have free play and get to know other kids, parents and caregivers. Meet at the Nederland Community Library located at 200 Highway 72.
Family Movie Matinee: Bring the kids for free popcorn and a movie as we watch a family-friendly movie. This week’s movie is “Paddington,” rated PG. 1 hour and 35 minutes. The movie starts at 4:30 p.m. in the meeting room at the Gilpin County Public Library located 15135 Highway 119 in Black Hawk.

Artist Reception: Celebrate the work of David Throutt! This is a free event that is open to anyone who enjoys photography. Drop by anytime to meet David and enjoy some light refreshments. David was recently awarded Best of Show in the 77th Annual Gilpin Arts National Juried Art Show with “Monochrome Gateway.” Noon to 2 p.m. at the Gilpin County Public Library located at 15135 Highway 119 in Black Hawk.
“Fire in Paradise” Screening and Discussion: Join CSU Extension, Timberline FPD, Sheriff’s Office, and others for a FREE screening of “Fire in Paradise” and discussion on all things wildfire. Nederland Writers: Bring something you are working on to share and get feedback on or join the group to listen in and hone your skills. The Mountain Meditation Circle: A free and open mindfulness meditation practice and discussion group for experienced meditators meeting at the Gilpin County Public Library every Monday at 6 p.m. If you are interested in attending the group, please schedule a brief introductory phone call before your first meeting by contacting Alisa Witt at wittalisa@gmail.com or 847-890-5262 to provide a good time to schedule the introductory call. If you have never meditated before or would like instruction and direct support to develop your practice, Alisa can put you on a waiting list and when a minimum of five people have joined the list, she will announce the free class is beginning in 2-3 weeks.

Children’s Storytime: Join us every Wednesday morning for our Children’s Storytime. Most of our children range from 0 to 5 years of age but all children are welcome. Enjoy stories, fingerplays, rhymes, and more. A themed craft will follow every storytime. Peak to Peak Chorale: Auditions for our Spring Broadway Show will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Gilpin County Public Library. We welcome new members who love to sing!

Friends of the Library Meeting: Learn about ways you can contribute to the library! This month we will be discussing upcoming fundraising opportunities during the holiday season. Sunday, January 19
Stuffy Hospital: Sick stuffy? Poorly plush? Stuffy not so stuffed? Kids can come and get simple fixes for their stuffies; repair holes, fix eyes, add stuffing, etc. at this repair and learn event. Volunteers will be on hand to help stitch and fix! Just bring your special plushie! Your stuffy will receive a patient chart, and we’ll have all the “tools” they need to take temperatures, blood pressure, heart-rate and more! Meet at the Nederland Community Library located at 200 Highway 72 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Meditation and Mindfulness: Practice meditation, explore readings, and join discussions in this free program at Nederland Community Library located at 200 Highway 72.
