The Nederland Food Pantry and Clothing Closet are available to residents of our Peak to Peak community every Monday, Thursday, Friday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon in the west wing of the Nederland Community Center, 750 Highway 72. Connection Collective: Often when smart, professional, motivated women encounter challenges, they turn to a specialized professional to seek a solution. Each meeting will have a thought-provoking theme around which the group/small groups will converse with the intention of promoting self-discovery and sharing individual experiences and resources.

The first meeting will take place from 5:30 until 7 p.m. at the Nederland Community Library, Community Room, 200 North Highway 72. To RSVP call Carrie Evans at 720-260-2901.

Art at the Center Winter Reception: Meet the artists, enjoy refreshments, and music, and vote for your favorite artwork from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Nederland Community Center, 750 Highway 72. Rub elbows with Nederland’s flourishing art scene and support the community at the same time. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to witness artists demonstrating their skills and can actively participate in creating their own masterpiece through the interactive demo. A $10 donation is requested to cover the cost of food and wine. Please note the earlier starting time to accommodate viewing and participating in demos. Friday Storytime: Read books, sing songs, learn some ASL, and get the wiggles out in the first half hour, followed by free play. The Coal Creek Canyon Open Mic and Community Hang Out, hosted by the Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association (CCCIA) will be held on Friday, March 1 from 7 until 9 p.m. at the CCCIA Community Hall, 31528 Highway 72, Coal Creek Canyon. The Mountain-Ear Presents: Meet the Candidates Forum on Monday, March 4 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Nederland Community Center, 750 Highway 72, Nederland. There will be a five-minute introduction by each candidate beginning at 5:30 p.m. Questions to the candidates submitted by email will be addressed from 6:15-7:30 p.m. An informal Q&A session will follow the official session from 7:30-8 p.m. Submit your questions for the community candidate forum after reading the candidate profiles in the February 8 edition of The Mountain-Ear. Similar questions will be combined. Questions may be addressed to Mayoral candidates or Trustee candidates (or both). The Mountain Meditation Circle is a free and open group that has been meeting every Monday evening at 6 p.m. for the last four years at the Gilpin County Public Library. New participants are always welcome. New members will need to provide their contact information prior to attending their first meeting. Preschool Storytime: The Gilpin County Public Library hosts story time every Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. for ages 0 - 5 years. Join Children’s Librarian Deb Benitez for stories, fingerplays, rhymes, and more. A themed craft will follow every story. Art Show hosted by Kaleidoscope Fine Arts Gallery: Each month this year, Kaleidoscope Fine Arts Gallery will be featuring a new Art Show.
