Sara Sandstrom, Nederland. Boulder Valley School District is now offering free, confidential Covid testing for students and staff at Nederland Elementary and Nederland Middle Senior High Schools.

There are two different testing opportunities. Asymptomatic students and staff can be tested on every other Wednesday. A mobile Covid test site will be set up at each school for approximately three hours. The testing will take place at NES from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. and at NMSHS from 12 – 3 p.m. The next mobile testing date is February 17, 2021.

Parents/guardians must give consent for this test to be given. This consent form will be valid for one year for testing at all BVSD mobile sites. Check your emails from the schools for more information. The test will be completed using a saliva test. The mobile testing is for staff and students only and is for those with or without Covid symptoms.

There is another testing opportunity for students and staff who have Covid symptoms. The testing at NMSHS will be done Monday through Thursday during school hours, with an expected 48 hour turnaround for results. At NES sympathetic testing will be done Tuesday through Thursday. The testing will be conducted by the trained school nurse or the health room para. Call the schools for more information and to register ahead of time. All people wanting a Covid test must register on the following website http://www.primarybio.com/a/bvsd.

The school nurse consultant at Nederland Middle Senior High School is Dolores Berbaum, dolores.berbaum@bvsd.org, 720-561-4908. The health room para at NMSHS is Jilene Norman, jilene.norman@bvsd.org, 720-561-4916. The health room para at Nederland Elementary is Kelly Detzel Hess, kelly.detzelhess@bvsd.org, 720-561-4863.

The schools are extremely grateful for this testing to now be in Nederland. This will increase their ability to help keep students and staff healthy.
