In the heart of Gilpin County, a man with a vision for fiscal responsibility and strategic planning has stepped forward to offer his candidacy for the position of District 3 Commissioner.

Corey Marshall, a longtime resident with a rich history of community involvement, has announced his bid to represent the Republican Party in the upcoming elections, citing a deep-seated desire to contribute positively to the county’s future.

Marshall’s decision to run stems from the encouragement of fellow community members who recognized his potential to effect positive change. With 27 years of residency in Gilpin County under his belt and a familial connection reaching back four generations in Colorado, Marshall brings a deep-rooted understanding of the area’s needs and challenges.

A multifaceted professional background further enriches Marshall’s qualifications for the role. Having worked for Coors in Golden for 16 years, with roles ranging from sales and marketing to eventually serving as the Chief Financial Officer, Marshall honed his skills in fiscal management, strategic planning, and operations. Additionally, his involvement in launching ventures like Tivoli Brewing in Denver underscores his entrepreneurial spirit and ability to navigate complex economic landscapes.

Marshall’s platform is built on principles of prudent financial management, sustainable growth, and community engagement. He emphasizes the importance of managing County resources effectively while remaining attentive to the evolving needs of residents. Central to his vision is a commitment to increasing revenue streams without burdening taxpayers, a stance that aligns with the sentiments of many Gilpin County voters.

When questioned about his stance on development, Marshall emphasizes a balanced approach that leverages existing resources while exploring new avenues for growth. He advocates for initiatives such as urban development in Central City and supports the expansion of recreational opportunities like Eldora Ski Resort, recognizing their potential to attract diverse tourism demographics and bolster the local economy.

He said if managed well, Air BnB’s are a good thing. He thinks the tiered regulation makes a lot of sense.

Marshall’s forward-thinking approach extends to addressing pressing community issues, such as childcare and food insecurity. He favors innovative solutions, including the establishment of non-profit organizations to tackle these challenges while generating revenue for the county.

“The County needs to constantly be in the mode of thinking outside the box,” he quipped.

In a statement to voters, Marshall underscores his commitment to effective governance transcending political affiliations. “It’s not about representing any political party or affiliation,” he asserts. “It’s more about managing the county well and having a vision of what that means. I have a passion for getting us where we need to go.”

As the campaign season unfolds, Corey Marshall emerges as a compelling candidate, offering a blend of experience, vision, and community-minded leadership. With a focus on prudent fiscal management and strategic planning, Marshall aims to steer Gilpin County towards a prosperous and sustainable future.
