Miranda Fisher, Town Clerk and Peter Cacek, Administrative Assistant, Town of Nederland. In 2020, the Town of Nederland was faced with a tough decision of whether to cancel the annual Town Clean Up or postpone it until we could host a safe, socially distant event under Covid-19 restrictions. With extensive planning by the Town Clean Up Administrative team, we pulled together a successful event, despite being pushed out a couple months, where we were able to serve approximately 120 households. We developed a good layout that allowed people to stay in their vehicles as they moved through the events and had an amazing set of volunteers and staff to assist event participants.
As we prepare for this year’s event, we are happy to report that it will be held on the first Saturday of the month, June 5, 2021, and will be structured similarly to the 2020 layout. The event will start at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 12 p.m., or when the dumpsters are full – whichever comes first. We are anticipating almost all the same vendors, including but not limited to: Bedder World, Boulder County Hazard Materials Management, ReSource, I.T. Fresh, and Rocky Mountain Recycling.
If you plan on joining us at this year’s event, we hope you will spend time connecting with our community agencies, who will have a plethora of information to provide you with. We are happy to welcome the following community agency partners at this event: Nederland Fire Department, Solarize Nederland, and Wildfire Partners.
Teen’s Inc. will also be selling donuts and coffee in order to raise funds for their programs!
If you are unable to attend this year’s Town Clean Up, but still want to help make Nederland a more beautiful place, please consider joining Wild Bear for their ‘Spring Thaw Cleanup, which is scheduled for Sunday, June 6, 2021, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
We look forward to seeing everyone next month for the 2021 Town Clean Up and Spring Thaw Event. Thank you for supporting our community in our waste diversion and beautification efforts!
Want to help out? We are currently looking for volunteers! If you are interested, please contact Miranda Fisher, Deputy Town Administrator /Town Clerk, at townclerk@nederlandco.org or 303-258-3266 ext. 1030, or sign up at: https://nederlandco.org/town-clean-up-day-june-5-2021/
