Sara Sandstrom-Kobi, Nederland. As soon as you walk in the doors at Nederland Middle Senior High School you can see that construction is in full swing. An enormous amount of mechanical, electrical and plumbing work is being done. Demolition is happening in the building as well as new framing and wall installation. The final steps in the asbestos abatement are coming to an end.

Work is happening throughout the building on both the first and second floors. The temporary kitchen is now being used. With the bond construction work approximately halfway done, it is exciting to see the progress.
At the elementary school, noticeable and behind-the-scene changes continue. Painting is happening in the hallways. Over the upcoming long weekend, fifth grade classrooms will be carpeted and painted. Work continues on the Robotics Lab, and hallway lighting is being removed and replaced. Installation of the HVAC controls are occurring throughout the school.
FCI Constructors continues to work with local businesses like Gilpin Earthworks and Air-O-Pure Portables. They have become very familiar with ACE Hardware and have enjoyed eating lunch at Nederland restaurants.
Donations of fill dirt have been made to the CDOT facility in Nederland. Pea gravel has been donated to the Town of Nederland Public Works. A local contractor will also be used for the construction updates to the bus barn.
It is not only wonderful to see a fresh coat of paint and updated technology in our schools, it is also great to see our students learning in a safe environment.
