Dear Editor,
I have received a prescription from the VA Hospital in Aurora in one day this week. However, it appears that I was lucky and was an exception and not the rule. I have a neighbor who just received one prescription eight days after it was sent, while still waiting on another prescription which was sent out on the same day. The majority of Veterans who receive prescriptions from the VA do in fact receive via USPS. I will admit my prescriptions can be late, up to a week without consequence. However, there are a large percentage of those prescriptions whose arrival is not only crucial but life threatening to not be received on time.
Mail delivery of medicine in the VA Medical System is very common because much of the system within itself is based on your residency and whether or not you live within a predetermined mile radius of the nearest VA Medical Facility.
While I can only speak about the VA, I can only imagine that there would be countless programs and systems in this country which are similar. One thing that I’m thinking about is that a majority of such systems on the civilian side effect elderly and disabled citizens who are not only in more need but also more vulnerable to COVID.
This is ALL TRUMP!!! He’s literally putting people’s lives at risk to compromise mail in ballots. I think Trump is the first Republican President in my lifetime that not only is sabotaging the VA System but literally doesn’t care about this country’s Veterans.
