Hello. I used to live in Nederland years ago, then I had to move back to Ohio. I come back and visit my brother and sister-in-law every year or two. They now live in Wondervu. We always make a couple of trips to Nederland to shop, eat, reminisce, and enjoy the quaintness of Ned.
My brother called today to give me the bad news that 1st Street was going to be torn down and replaced with condos! I was devastated! It was hard enough when the Pioneer Inn closed up, but this is the last straw.
They're destroying Ned and the reason we visit.
Last summer we drove up past Central City to the old cemeteries... again, row after row of condos. I'm glad I knew Central City BEFORE, and I'm glad I knew Ned BEFORE...
Now we'll have to find some other place to visit and spend our money.
