Dear Editor,
In recognition of answering the call to life-saving service, local first responders from the Nederland, Sugarloaf, Timberline, and Coal Creek Canyon Fire Protection Districts will be honored at a Community Worship Service on Sunday, August 9 at 11 a.m. in the pavilion at Chipeta Park, on Lakeview Drive in Nederland.
The public is invited to join in the worship service, organized by Nederland’s three churches, Nederland Community Presbyterian Church, Calvary Chapel and St. Rita’s Catholic Church. Special invitations have been issued to local first responders and their families.
The service will include music by Calvary Chapel’s Revelation 19 choir, a solo by Ana Coronna of Nederland Community Presbyterian Church, along with well recognized hymns.
Local first responders will participate in readings during the service. Messages will be delivered by Pastor Seth Baumhover of Calvary Chapel, Rev. Zachary Hancock of Nederland Community Presbyterian Church and David Rasmussen from St. Rita’s Catholic Church. A special blessing of first responders and their families will also be offered.
Offertory donations at the service will be shared equally among the four local fire districts.
