The Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association hosted an Easter Egg hunt on March 30, 2024, at the CCCIA Hall at 31528 Highway 72. The hall was packed with children and parents, all of whom had the opportunity to paint eggs before the hunt began.
Organizers hid 1200 eggs. There were two bunnies and an Easter Bunny to enchant the kids. Hot chocolate and cookies were offered for refreshment.
The hunt began at 12:30. Children ages one to three were brought out to the front of the hall, while the rest went out back where the eggs were hidden in the snow.
By 1 p.m. most of the eggs had been found. Children found the three hidden golden eggs, which led to an award. Each proud winning child received a basket with candy and fruit.
The next event at the hall will be on April 20, featuring a program on high altitude gardening.
