On November 13, Coal Creek Canyon residents attended tours of the two Charter Schools that made presentations to the families of the Coal Creek Canyon K-8 school.

Jefferson Academy Elementary, 9955 Yarrow Street, scheduled tours at 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. About 13 people attended the morning tour at Jefferson Academy. Woodrow Wilson Academy, 8300 West 94th Avenue, scheduled tours for 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Letters of intent have indicated there are 95 interested in the traditional school, plus 20 homeschool students. For pre-K, 40 have applied and 60 are interested in before and after school.

“The numbers are very strong right now,” Matlick said.
