The Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association Celebrated Mother’s Day with a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on May 11, 2024, at the CCCIA Hall at 31528 highway 72. Adult CCCIA members got breakfast with pancakes, sausage, eggs and coffee for $10 for members and nonmembers for $15.
Bruce Goodwin cooked the pancakes, and servers included Norma Cassin, Janice Batt and Tommy Drouillard. Elena Nay, a Rolston Valley student, served late in the morning, and two cub scouts helped serve early in the day.
Shelly Peters-Schaller, a certified massage therapist, gave 10-minute chair massages. Shelly’s training as a massage therapist includes Therapeutic Swedish, Zen Shiatsu, Tai, Deep Tissue, Spa, Integrative, Chair Massage as well as Canine and Equine Massage. She is a native Coloradoan and received her massage certifications from Boulder College of Massage Therapy and Equitouch Systems. Shelly has extensive hands-on experience and is intuitive to the needs of both humans and their pet companions.
Treasurer Chuck Berginz said 56 people attended the event.
The next event at the Hall will be Canyon Cleanup and then July 4 on Thursday which will include a pancake breakfast, vendors in the parking lot and a parade at about 11 a.m. The event will last until 2 p.m.
