Barbara Lawlor, Nederland, January 15, 2015. It was great season for Nederland High School's return to 8-man football. And it was a great season for Aaron Jones, Ned's football coach who was named the Coach of the Year.
Part of the award was a VIP pass to the Broncos versus Chargers home football game where he was presented a plaque and hugged by a Bronco mascot.
Jones, in his 10th year as coach, came here from Wisconsin where he was and still is a devout, loyal Green Bay Packers' fan.
He says, "It was fun at the Bronco game. I met some great people tailgating before the game, but, of course, I left at halftime to watch the end of the Packers/Lions game."
The Packers won their first playoff game and the Broncos went down in ignominy after Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
