Clarification from the December 28, 2023, Nederland Fire Protection District article titled “New fees for fire ban violators.”

The Nederland Fire Protection District states, “Based on history, Nederland Fire policy clearly states that we will not respond to West Magnolia Campgrounds or Gordon Gulch Campgrounds without Sheriff response. On all other locations in the district, if the initial call info suggests an unsafe scene or police request us to stage until the scene is safe, we will do so. Our priority is not only the safety of the public but safe operations for our responders.”
