On June 10, 2021, I wrote about what inevitably became one of my favorite places to eat in Evergreen, Colorado, the Lariat Lodge Brewing Company. Since then, I’ve made a handful of connections, including managers, bartenders, servers, and patrons. It’s just that kind of place where it’s easy, even for an introvert like myself, to talk to people.
During one of my visits, I learned that the brewery was celebrating the third anniversary of its Littleton location and the main distribution center. Considering how much I enjoy visiting the brewery, I jumped at the opportunity to cover the event.
With my camera in hand, I jumped out of my truck and found myself impressed by the size of the Littleton Lariat Lodge Brewery. I walked through the front door and immediately forgot I had left the mountains.
Putting my observation skills to practice, I looked around, taking in all the details I could. The imposing wooden beams caught my eye first, followed by the row of perfectly hung rustic chandeliers, the beer barrel decor, and strategically placed lights. I felt I was walking into a much larger version of my cabin.
Making myself at home, I continued walking until I found myself in the presence of their beautiful fermentation vessels. The sweet lingering scent of hops almost gave me chills. It also made me excited to try one of their many delicious beers.
I was distracted by the distant sound of live music coming from the lower patio, which offers views of the foothills and has a cozy fireplace the length of its wall. It’s pretty spectacular. Were it not for the rain, I would have sat out there the entire time.
According to the patrons I spoke with, everything seemed to be a hit, including the $3 beers and appetizers and the $15 pig roast plate special. There was also a cornhole tournament on the top patio.
The thing about Lariat, as I like to call it among friends, is that I always find myself laughing and having a good time with all the staff. This day was no exception. Between the festivities generating excitement throughout the lodge, the gentlemen wearing hilarious custom-made shirts of their colleagues, and the unmatched hospitality, it’s no wonder I love the Lariat.
Above all else, you will get something that can be rare in any business these days. And that’s a level of customer service that makes you feel as if you’re eating at a friend’s home and not a public restaurant.
