Dear Editor,
Jim Disinger and Serene Karplus are each displaying half a dozen photos in the current “Art at the Center” show at the Nederland Community Center. When the building closed in March for the pandemic, the curator of the show decided that the summer show would be posted online and invited us to show our currently hanging works through this virtual system provided by the R Gallery in Boulder.
We typically choose a theme and for this show we chose Big Animals (Jim) and Tiny Animals (Serene). The camera just makes us really see what’s in front of us when we are out in nature and the art shows remind us to look at a few of the thousands of photos we take each season.
We invite you to visit these dozen photos and the work of fellow local artists (mostly local mountain folk) online. The first link takes you to the artists’ statements and the second link (also available through the first one) leads to the art works. This is up for only a limited time online, so please enjoy these soon. Check out the links at https://www.nederlandcommunitycenter.org/art-at-the-center and https://rgallery.art/collections/art-at-the-center-nederland.
