Champs and Acers tied for lead

Barbara Lawlor, Gilpin County. After 20 games in the Gilpin County Co-ed Softball Leagues, the top two teams are the Champs and the Acers, with four games and no losses apiece. The Champs have been the champs for two years in a row and have fought hard to get and stay where they are.

Afternoon thunderstorms cancelled a couple of the games in the past week, but there will be Monday makeup games to catch up before the end of the season.

Mean Machine is right behind the leaders with four wins and one loss as of June 9.

The Players are 3-3; Blue Sox are 2-5,  Whistler’s Cafe is 1-4, and the Misfits are 0-5.

On Thursday, June 18, at 6 p.m. the Misfits will play the Acers. At 7 p.m., Whistlers will play the Mean Machine.

On Tuesday, June 23, Players will take on the Blue Sox at 6 p.m. and the Acers will play the Mean Machine at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, June 24, the Misfits play Whistlers at 6 p.m. and at 7 p.m. Whistlers play the Mean Machine.
