Patrice LeBlanc, Central City. The Central City Council held their meeting on March 17, 2020, at 7:06 p.m. via teleconference due to the Coronavirus. Present in attendance was Mayor Jeremy Fey, Mayor Pro Tem Judy Laratta, Alderman Jack Hidahl, Alderman Jackie Johnson and Alderman Jeff Aiken.
Ordinance No. 20-08 was added to the agenda which establishes rules and procedures for City Council for emergency meetings due to National emergencies. The 1st reading passed 5-0 and will remain in place until April 8, 2020.
Ordinance No. 20-03 amending the Municipal Code concerning the service fees and maintenance responsibility for fire suppression lines was approved 5-0 on its second reading.
Ordinance No. 20-04: repealing and reenacting Article VII of Chapter 6 of the City of Central Municipal Code to implement new medical marijuana regulations and create a permitting process for medical marijuana delivery by medical marijuana stores was approved 4-1 on its first reading.
Ordinance No. 20-05: repealing and reenacting Article IX of Chapter 6 of the City of Central Municipal Code and amending other sections of the city of central municipal code to implement new retail marijuana regulations and create a licensing system for marijuana hospitality businesses and retail marijuana hospitality and sales businesses failed 3-2 on the first vote. After much discussion, a second vote was taken and the Ordinance was approved 3-2 on its first reading.
Ordinance No. 20-06: amending Chapter 16 of the Municipal Code, specifically certain sections of the Land Development Code to implement new marijuana land use regulations was approved 3-2 on its first reading.
Ordinance No. 20-07: amending Chapter 16 of the Municipal Code, to allow and regulate Multi-Use Recreational Trails as a limited use under the City’s Land Development Code was approved 5-0 on its first reading.
Resolution No. 20-12: A resolution approving amended and restated Articles of Incorporation for the Belvidere Foundation was approved 5-0 on its first reading.
The meeting adjourned at 9:09 p.m. The next meeting will be held on April 7, 2020, 7 p.m.
