On Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 1 to 8 p.m., the Gilpin County Community Center (GCCC) celebrated its 20th year of providing service to its community and beyond.
Children of all ages attended the GCCC to partake in bouncy house fun and games. Popcorn, hot dogs and hamburgers, and cotton candy were up for grabs, prepared and served by the community center’s staff.
Lucky Mary’s baking food truck, based out of Golden, made an appearance, setting up shop just outside the community center parking lot. The dessert trailer offered a plethora of mouth-watering delights, including cheesecakes to pies and funnel cakes to ice cream.
The event ended with a public meeting with the Friends of the Gilpin County Community Center from 6 to 8 p.m., followed by a DIVE-in movie from 8 to 10 p.m.
Crowds trickled in throughout the day to help celebrate Gilpin County’s most treasured place. Happy 20th, Gilpin County Community Center! Your community looks forward to another 20 years.
