Carrie Lee Vader 3/8/1964 to 5/3/2021

Carrie Lee Vader of Bakersfield, California, passed away on May 3, 2021. 

She was born on March 8, 1964, to Hartwell Bowlby and Evelyn L. Haney. 

Carrie had been a desk clerk at The Lodge Casino in Black Hawk. 

She also loved the outdoors and going to the beach. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed travelling and making new friends.

Carrie had a beautiful smile that could light up the dark. Her favorite words were, “It’s all good.”

Carrie is survived by her two amazing daughters Dana Vader and Krystal Gomez, and her husband Andy. One sister: Sadie Smith and her husband Bill Smith. Three brothers: Mitchell Bowlby, Hartwell Bowlby and Robbie Bowlby. Seven grandchildren: Carrie, Dixie, Eric, Adam, Noah,  Joel, Bella and one step-granddaughter Saylar. Six nephews: Billy Smith, Mitchell Bowlby and wife Tasha, Christopher Bowlby, Logan Bowlby and wife Julie, Joseph Bowlby and wife Carolyn, Timmy Bowlby and wife Jennifer. Five great nephews: Mitchell R. Bowlby. Khistopher Bowlby, Dominic Bowlby, Mitch Bowlby, Christopher Bowlby. Three great nieces: Winter Bowlby, Ciera Bowlby, Mary Duffie Bowlby, special sisters-in-law, Bernadette Bowlby, Pamela Bullins Bowlby. Precious friend for many years: Tinker Shannon. As well as many dear friends and co-workers. 

In addition to her parents, Carrie is preceded in death by her grandparents George and Clara Prickett, grandfather Robert M. Bowlby, aunt Mary Smith, uncle Bud Prickett, sister-in-law Judy Bowlby, and very special niece Rhonda Smith. 

Arrangements for a service will be announced at a later date by the family in Bakersfield, California.
